Armed For Battle - Upcoming Nintendo NES Homebrew Strategy Game

Armed-For-Battle-Upcoming-Nintendo-NES-Homebrew-Strategy-GameWith the majority of homebrew releases opting to fit into the platform genre, it'sa real surprise, and treat, to see developers stepping out of the norm. Armed For Battle is the latest homebrew title to do this, bringing the Nintendo NES an all new strategic game showing plenty of promise.

Homebrew NES developer Rizz recently announced and showcased his latest project on the NintendoAge forums, also uploading a short teaser trailer of his work onto YouTube. Armed For Battle looks to put you in control of a medieval city with similar gameplay mechanics to that of the Command & Conquer series, leaving you to gear up your forces to attack.

Somewhere in the unmapped land surrounding your kingdom, evil rulers corrupted by greed seek to enslave your people.  Scout the territory, then send your forces to battle any threats you encounter.  With enough gold, you might win them over while avoiding massive bloodshed.  Use caution when venturing into the unknown.  It is rumored that Dragons and Giants may live somwhere outside the safety of the kingdom.

No release date has been set for the game yet, nor whether it will be made available on a physical cartridge, however, Rizz has confirmed he will be demoing his work at the US Midwest Gaming Classic on March 24-25th.
