If the worldwide success of Angry Birds hitting just about every modern device wasn't enough, the addictive bird slinger has been brought over to the Sega Mega Drive. While this might not be an official port, it sure is something seeing one of the most successful mobile games to date hit Sega's 16-bit console.
This retro port of Angry Birds is a homebrew effort by a Chinese developer who clearly felt that the Mega Drive was missing out on the action. While the Mega Drive lacks touch based input, the controls instead work very similar to that of a Mouse - click and drag to sling the birds from the catapult.
We won't deny though that this demake of Angry Birds isn't quite up to scratch with the version we're used to, but nevertheless is a fantastic sight and quite the experience. The Angry Birds Mega Drive ROM is free to download and enjoy in a emulator, but don't be surprised if this title soon starts appearing on physical pirate cartrtidges hailing from abroad.
