Amiga Classic 'The Chaos Engine' Remake In Development

The-Chaos-Engine-RemakeThe Bitmap Brothers' hard as nails steampunk shooter is back! Holland-based studio Abstraction appear to have secured the license for the original Commodore Amiga classic, The Chaos Engine, and have since begun work on an all new Windows PC remake of the game, due to hit Steam.

The developers behind this remastering of the top-down run and gun adventure recently shared their upcoming title with a teaser trailer on YouTube. Since then interviews have revealed that this reboot is built upon the original Amiga code, whilst adding in several new features such as 16-way movement and slight adjustments to the difficulty. Further adding to this remake's potential greatness, a founding member of The Bitmap Brothers, Mike Montgomery, is on-board helping advise how to use the game's source code.

Unfortunately very little has been shown of the gameplay as of yet, however, those who attended the PC & Indie game event Rezzed this weekend gone will have caught a glimpse of this upcoming title.
