Aetherbyte's Homebrew TurboGrafx-16 Shmup 'Atlantean' Due For Release On HuCard Next Month

PC-Engine-Homebrew-Atlantean-Due-For-Release-Next-MonthAfter several years in the development stages, Aetherbyte Software are finally ready to release their latest homebrew shooter Atlantean next month. What makes this brand new release for the TurboGrafx-16 / PC Engine so special though is that it's the first title to arrive on the HuCard format in twenty years.

If you're yet to check out Atlantean, this all new aquatic shooter features some stunning 8-bit sprite art, along with gameplay similar to that of the arcade hit Defender. Aetherbyte Software have also gone on to prove their homebrew coding skills within this release through a rather catchy chiptune soundtrack, and the added bonus of parallax scrolling backgrounds.

Needless to say, we’re rather excited about the prospect of tackling another title on our PC Engine and TurboGrafx-16 systems soon. According to the homebrew publisher, Atlantean is due for release sometime in July, however, exact dates and the game’s cost are yet to be confirmed.
