After years of development, Abobo's Big Adventure- a labour of love from I-Mockery, Pesto Force and The Pox Box- is finally available to play online, a mash-up of all your favourite NES titles.
Billed as the ultimate tribute to the NES, Abobo's Big Adventure is the story of one man, Abobo (you know, that big guy from Double Dragon) on a quest to save his son, Aboboy- a journey fraught with danger as every other NES character ever made is trying to kill him. Rather than just stick with one set of game mechanics, though, Abobo's eight-level quest sees him struggle against the gameplay stylings of eight classic NES titles, ranging from the obvious (of course there's a Double Dragon stage) to the more unexpected (Balloon Fight? With Abobo?), which each stage also crammed with enemies from dozens of different NES titles. Abobo must destroy them all with the power of his rage to save his son!
The actual development of the game, according to -RoG-, chief of I-Mockery.com, started all the way back in 2002, envisioned as a tribute to the NES, but was restarted back in 2006, worked on under wraps as the site released other games such as Trick or Treat Adventure Quest and Santa-Fu. Now, at long last, their work is finsihed, and now everyone can play the game online for free (although if you donate, you'll get a bonus mini-game starring Aboboy for your support).
