64drive by Retroactive - Another Nintendo 64 Flash Card on the way

64drive-another-Nintendo-64-Flash-CardIf you ever felt there wasn't enough choice from the upcoming Everdrive 64 and the already available NeoFlash N64 Myth Cartridge, another Nintendo 64 flash card has entered the ring. The 64drive by Retroactive is currently underway with support for 99% of the N64 ROM library.

Just over five years ago, playing such a wide range of ROMs was often limited to the power inside your PC. While emulation was constantly improving over time, only the likes of the Game Boy range had such an active flash card scene. Although there were methods of loading ROMs onto real hardware (using Floppy Disk Devices and Parallel Port ROM Sending tools), there was never anything as simple as the drag and drop media card based devices we have today.

Retroactive's upcoming 64drive is currently in development with no release date set as of yet, however plenty of features have been listed to generate demand. Set to be sold worldwide, the built in multi-region compatibility in the 64drive detects whether you have a PAL or NTSC Nintendo 64 and adjusts TV modes accordingly.

So if you haven't already bought the NeoFlash N64 Myth or decided on the upcoming Everdrive 64 from Krikzz, then the 64drive will give you some real thinking to do. Head over to the official 64drive website now to find out more.

I gave up trying to find controllers that didn't have a crappy thumbstick for the n64, now I just run an emulator on the xbox. Wish I could mod a gamecube thumb stick onto a 64 controller. But this card looks cool if you wanna keep your collection mint in the box.

Hmm, hoping that this one'll be cheaper than the other ones. Free games, sure, but those cartridges are expensive!
