The Future of Gaming (from 1995)

A lookback to a looking-forward...

Back in them 1990s, there was a wonderful television programme on ITV, Saturday mornings. That programme was called Movies, Games & Videos. It was a magazine format show, consisting of film previews and reviews (ample coverage of Jurassic Park, oh yes), as well as articles on new VHS releases and... Games! Yay!

Now, from the wonderful realm of YouTube, is this nugget of a gem of a diamond of a thingy. Previewing the FUTURE of gaming, in the form of the Panasonic 3DO, Philips CD-i, Atari Jaguar, Sega Saturn, Commodore Amiga CD32, and Nintendo's "Project Reality" (aka Nintendo 64), with each format's respective creator/PR man shouting of its virtues.

Exciting stuff back then, but it's almost poignant to watch this now. Enjoy, anyway.
