For the final stop of our retro gaming tour of the south, we stop by Insane Games in Clevedon, North Somerset. With the RetroCollect Squad hoping even more classic games at bargain prices, our focus ended up elsewhere thanks to a certain in store distraction...
If you hadn't already worked out from our previous shop tour articles this week, it's safe to say that retro gamers have it fairly good down south. There are plenty of well stocked independent gaming stores that cater for retro gamers, with Insane Games being no different.
As the video tour below will show, Insane Games had a rather large selection of retro games situated in the middle of their store, spread out between a large glass cabinet and shelving unit beside it. Inside the cabinet lay the refreshing sight of several Atari Lynx games, various consoles at a reasonable price, and a great selection of unboxed Nintendo games spanning most systems. The shelving next to the cabinet was also just as impressive, featuring a stunning Super Nintendo Scope set which appeared to be almost brand new, countless Mega Drive titles, various boxed Game Boy, SNES and Nintendo 64 games, and several Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast games.
But before we could even set our eyes on what we wanted to take home with us, we were rather distracted by the arcade machine at the back of the shop. Insane Games clearly knew their target audience too well and had a great little cab featuring various classic arcade hits.
Guided Video Tour of Insane Games (15 Old Street, Clevedon)
Once we tore ourselves away from the arcade machine, we left rather satisfied with one lucky member of the RetroCollect Squad holding Resident Evil 2 on the Nintendo 64. With plenty more bargains still on offer, we'd recommend you take the trip down to Insane Games should you be in the area.
